Clementine's
Jul 23, 2010 by AeroBoi from St. Louis
Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1
Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[1]

  • Nothing I can see.
  • Apathetic bartenders.

“Wow! I'm really shocked that this place still thrives! As a newcomer to St. Louis I've been making my rounds of the local bars and have found the bartenders here to be decidedly the most apathetic towards their customers (or at least me) I've ever experienced. This isn't a place that has any reason to throw attitude and that's not really the problem. I've almost never sat at a bar with an empty glass and not been almost immediately offered a refill! But here, you could easily fall asleep at the bar waiting! It's as if the bartenders are just way too tired and disinterested to be bothered serving their client! The amazing thing is that one of the owners actually sits at the bar day in and day out, and watches all of this and seems oblivious! After my sixth or so visit here I've decided this simply is not a place I choose to spend my hard earned cash especially when I can go down to Rehab or J J's and be served by energetic, young, and attractive bartenders, who at least pretend to care about what they're doing!”

Bissell Mansion Restaurant and Dinner Theater
Jul 20, 2010 by Melanie from St. Louis
Overall Rating: 6 User Rating Score: 6

  • Entertaining show.
  • Food.

“I took my boyfriend here for his birthday. The food wasn't that great. First they served appetizers of toasted ravioli, crab Rangoon, and a cheese ball. Dinner was a choice of chicken or steak along with potatoes and I can't recall what else. Dessert was a chocolate mousse. The food was average. Very bland and a little cold. The show was very good. There was adult humor in it and plenty of laughs. When I made reservations, I asked that we didn't get parts in the play, but we did anyways and actually had a good time. If you're looking for something entertaining this is a great idea, but don't plan on going just for the food.”

Charlie Gitto's Pasta House
Jun 10, 2010 by Dee from Alexandria, VA
Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[10] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • The food, the atmosphere.
  • For me nothing was negative.

“I have been going to Charlie Gitt's Pasta House whenever I am in town for over 25 years. If you like authentic Italian food, St. Louis Cardinals baseball, and a neighborhood feel, this is the place for you. You walk in and everything St. Louis Cardinals is there - original photos on the walls of all the great baseball players and a great menu. You are not in a hurry in the restaurant and this isn't like a chain Italian restaurant. The staff is friendly and competent. It gets noisy when it is filled (and it is filled most of the time), but that is part of it's wonder. A big TV is near the small bar area, with of course, sports on it. You walk in with your Cardinals colors and this is your place. Having said that, Tommy Lasorda was such a fan they had a table set aside for him, whenever the Dodgers were in town. If you want a big deal Italian restaurant - go to the Hill in St. Louis. If you want a really nice place where you feel at home, go to the Pasta House - only a block from Macy's and a few blocks from Busch Stadium. Enjoy!”

Trainwreck Saloon
Feb 20, 2010 by Matt from wentzville
Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1
Food:[1] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[1]

  • There is nothing to like. I have tried so many times to give this place a chance.
  • The staff, the food, the service, the atmosphere. Don't waste your time.

“Me, my wife and another couple decided to come here for New Year's Eve. Big mistake! Totally overcrowded. The staff was very rude, it took forever to get a beer. A friend of ours accidentally fell while trying to dance on their beer, little crummy dance floor and one of the bouncers. Instead of helping her up or asking if she was okay walked straight over to me and told me that if she falls again we are all kicked out! I was totally shocked. We will never go there again and I have talked to a lot of other people that have had many very bad experiences at Train wreck. I will say that we went to Pujol's and had a really, really great time. The staff at Pujol's is awesome, we had our food and drinks right away and the atmosphere was much better as well. I highly recommend going to Pujol's 5 if you go to Westport.”

Hacienda Mexican Restaurant
Oct 28, 2009 by jessica from stl
Overall Rating: 2 User Rating Score: 2
Food:[4] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[1]

  • Servers.
  • Food quality.

“Our server was a very lovely young lady, she was friendly lively and gave plenty of attention to our needs even though the were very busy. We had sat at the bar for a drink before we went to dinner the bartend was rude and slow she took forever to come take our order because she was standing there and talking to some friends at the end and then it took her forever to get our drinks. The hostess was rude when we came to the hostess stand she didn't even greet us. Our food was terrible it was salty and greasy, we literally pour a whole plate of grease of the top of our nacho it was terrible and the chips were so soggy you had to eat them with a spoon. The margaritas were pretty good but really small and overpriced. Our entries were okay the sever recommended a Navajo taco it was great and just as she described and for dessert we ordered a friend ice cream it was horrible and not fried at all. The manager never came by to see how our meal was in fact I never saw her leave the hostess stand except once to the servers in front of the whole dinning room how rude. We will not go back the only good thing about our experience was our server.”
