Buonanotte
Feb 15, 2010 by Jane from Montreal
Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1
Food:[1] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[2]

  • None.
  • Bad service, snob.

“I was really disappointed with the service we have received there. We initially came in order to celebrate our birthday with service bottle and made reservation 1 week in advance over the phone. Our reservation was for 11:30 pm. Though with reservation we had to wait 1 hour. After 1 hour, the hostess still unable to help us out, there's not much we can do. It was only after we decide to cancel your reservation that one of the worker there agreed to find us a table which with reservation should had been established in advance. Not to mention that at least 3 tables when free without any reserve; sign placed on the tables, while we waited. The worker came to us and pretended to ask us if we were the group waiting the the table that was being set up. He managed to offer us a little table that barely fits 4 people when initially we reserved for 8 people with a minimum of 2 service bottle! I mean, we were a group of young doctors coming to enjoy our birthday and will never EVER return there again.”

Bistro on the Avenue
Mar 29, 2009 by phil roberts from westmount
Overall Rating: 4 User Rating Score: 4
Food:[3] • Service:[2] • Atmosphere:[5]

  • NA.
  • The washrooms, the music and the food is always inconsistent.

“I used to frequent the Bistro once or twice a month, but I have now found that in the last two or three months that the quality has somewhat depreciated. I would almost say that it seems that the Bistro has simply because tired and that the staff that appears to be working there seems the same. Although we all know that it is a landmark, sometimes you need to just know when it is time to Throw in the towel.”

Taj (Le)
Sep 15, 2008 by Henri Duchastel from Montreal, QC
Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9
Food:[10] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • Amazing food, service and ambiance.
  • Can't taste everything all at once; must come back!

“It has a gorgeous décor, more precisely its main wall proudly displays remains of the Expo 67 Indian pavilion. Tourists actually come to Le Taj specifically for that! Moreover, Le Taj prepares a lot of its specialties in house: the naan, the kulfi, the tea, which are also the most popular sellers, so you know that Le Taj has figured out the right recipe and will offer nothing but fresh products.”

Ritz-Carlton Montreal
Sep 6, 2008 by TERRY222 from Montreal (See all reviews by TERRY222)
Overall Rating: 5 User Rating Score: 5
Food:[9] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • Anglo-tinted traditional "class" in the heart of Montreal's Golden Square Mile.
  • THe food, unfortunately also reflects its anglo ambiance. Very ordinary traditional Anglo-Saxon fare, over-cooked but served in expensive China-ware.

“The Ritz is the home of the Anglo establishment in Montreal - weddings, Barmitzvas, up-scale high-school graduations, business meetings etc. But it also pulls in many international visitors. It's ambience is very traditional English-Montreal, with obsequious service, lots of expensive cutlery, and waiters in black tie. It is currently being completely renovated and is closed (Summer 2008 to ??? 2010). IT will reopen in a new posture, in an effort to retain and recapture its position of a great Montreal luxury hotel and hospitality establishment.”

Globe
Sep 17, 2007 by Tim from Cincinnati
Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8
Food:[9] • Service:[8] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • Hot people, great food and drink, trendy!
  • Long wait, a bit loud.

“Love this place! Great food and drinks to a techno beat. After dinner, it changes to a club and you'll be drinking with the hot servers and hostess! Dress up and look your best, this place is for the fashionable and trendy. If you are a business traveler looking for an upscale swanky atmosphere, this place is upscale cool. A good value for your money? Well, its pricey, but delicious! If you don't really care about the price, this is good food. I had the red snapper and it was some of the best around. My friends had veal and something else (roast beef?) and loved their dishes too. We all tasted each other's food, and I can vouch for their dishes, awesome. Since we were three guys hanging out, we loved the hot bartenders and servers with legs up to there! A good way to start a night out on the town. Service was slow, had to wait for a table at the bar, but we didn't mind too much. They were packed on a Saturday night!”
