Ristorante Alla Rampa
Mar 24, 2011 by Ken from Long Island, NY
Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[10] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[9]

  • We did not feel rushed, and the food was perfectly prepared.
  • So much good food, so little time!

“I found nothing to fault - classic renditions of traditional Italian pastas as well as meat entrees and desserts. My wife and I were sent here by a resident, and we were very grateful. A delightful dining experience.”

Archetto (Le)
Sep 6, 2010 by Ronald from New York
Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1
Food:[2] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[1]

  • The novelty of cars speeding by while we eat.
  • Overall, experience, lousy and shoddy service; maybe that's why the mandatory service charge is only 15%.

“This is our third day of our first trip to Rome. After visiting various swiss and French cities, we decided to visit Rome and Florence in a few days. It was pretty clear from the minute we got there that this place was kind of shady. When we first arrived, the two people tables were not cleaned nor set up, yet the waiter told us to choose one of the tables, they still had the previous customer's garbage on the tables. We initialy thought that it was just because they were understaffed and just shook it off. The menu was also unexpected. How do I put this. Worn? Of course the state of the menu isn't a big deal, it's just interesting to note how consistent it was with the overall experience lousy and shoddy at best. Even though, we were there early and there were few customers there, the waiters took forever to take our order and forever and a day to prepare our subpar dishes. We ordered two appetizers and two pasta dishes totaling. When our bill came, it showed a mysterious item. It turns out that the reason their service was lousy because they'll just add an inflated 15% service charge on your bill without informing you. When we requested more information on the service charge, they pretended like they didn't understand English. While the food was almost okay, they were going for Italian food with a twist. Their execution is a bit lacking, the service left me with a bad taste in my month. I would not go back nor would I stay had I had a chance to do it over.”

Ciao Bella
Jul 18, 2010 by Nadine from Pasadena, CA
Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8
Food:[9] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[9]

  • Attentiveness of the staff to our needs.
  • I cannot think of a negative point.

“My daughter and my 15 year old granddaughter had lunch on Sunday here on June 20, 2010. I let the granddaughter choose the restaurants along the way, and we were very pleased with this one. The food, pasta, and seafood was delicious and served hot. The wine recommended by the server was wonderful and inexpensive. All three of us recommend this restaurant.”

Montecarlo (La)
Jun 24, 2010 by Ed Silva from Berkeley, CA USA
Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9
Food:[9] • Service:[8] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • The food, the frantic service, & the clientèle.

“Was there in 2007. Staying in Untours apartment down the street. Waiters were incredible, even as the crowd grew greater and took up the whole street. Pizza only the start of good food. Other dishes were great. Hard to beat the atmosphere even in Rome.”
