  • Very nice room and amenities.
  • Noise level.

“Unfortunately, this time of the year is very expensive for San Diego. The freeway noise wasn't bad on my side of the building, but I could hear neighbors a little bit - I am very noise sensitive. The quality of the room -- furnishings, shower, etc. were as nice as a 3 star. The air conditioning wall unit worked, but doesn't compare to central air. Overall, I hope I don't get this quality next time. I hope I get a 3 star for what I paid 4 months ago. I actually paid $45.00 recently in Bakersfield. I know San Diego is more popular.”

  • My daughters were free to go to the gymnasium without adult supervision.
  • Swimming pool was very small.

“It served its purpose, but I felt that it was a bit expensive.”

  • The proximity to both the highway and public transportation.

“This Holiday Inn Express offered the usual amenities. The staff was helpful. It is important to note that the hotel was located on Main Street and not on Otay Valley Road. With the high cost of gas, being able to take the 704 bus from either the Palomar Station to the hotel made getting around both easy and affordable.”

  • They have a good breakfast. Esmeralda at the front desk was very kind and helpful when I told her that the smoke smell in the room is making me sick.
  • The night manager (male that wears a wrist splint) was not accommodating nor friendly nor understanding of my situation.

“Travelers, beware of the fact that the rooms on the side of the highway is noisy that is more manifest at night from the nearby road traffic. And the room that I was assigned on that side are nastily heavily wreaking with smokers smell. The manager also lied that there are no available rooms anymore when he was putting me in a not so desirable situation and yet there were lots of them on the other side of the hotel which was more quieter and didn't have the smoking smell.”

  • Nothing.

“The hotel met all my expectations. I just need a place to lay down at night. Nothing fancy. The Holiday Inn Express was perfect!”

  • Staff was very helpful & friendly, food good & plenty.
  • Had to park a few doors down from room as someone took parking space.

“This was a great place to stay! Room was clean and large with Fridge & Microwave. Bed had extra sheets instead of heavy bedspread - very comfy. The spa was nice and hot and clean and premises were kept clean and groomed.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[9]

  • This hotel was clean, modern, updated and run by a friendly helpful staff.
  • One side of the hotel faced the freeway so there was traffic noise.

“We loved this hotel. It was convenient to the freeway run by people who were very friendly who knew the fun things to do and see. The hotel engineer gave us his business card after providing a fun place to go incase we got lost. He told us to call him. We will go back to this location the next time we visit San Diego!”

  • Faced the interstate, traffic noise was terrible.

“This hotel worked for the time we were there as we were in and out a lot.”

  • The bed was comfortable, the staff was accommodating.
  • The location is too far from San Diego

“This hotel is ideal for travelers who want to go to Tijuana during the day and return to the US in the evening. It's very close to the Mexican border. The room is comfortable and clean. The staff is attentive. The hotel provides a basic self-serve breakfast in the morning. I recommend going to the Chula Vista beach area, they had a great Sunday brunch with a good seafood selection, made to order omelets, champagne, and other drinks. This is not the hotel if you want to cab back and forth to San Diego. The cab ride from the airport to the hotel cost more than $40.”

  • Includes breakfast, close to convenience store.
  • Staff never smiled, everyone that went to the pool was covered in bug bites.

“When I said rooms with two beds were sold out but gave me a room with a queen bed and pull out sofa that was fine. Rooms were acceptable but floors dirty, cobwebs on the floor next to the bathtub (guess it hasn't been mopped).”

  • Staff and service, Excellent continental breakfast, excellent, handicap accessibility. Unbelievable - Felt safe in shower with grab bars and bench seat.
  • We couldn't take our dog.

“The facility and staff were very accommodating. We had a handicap parking spot directly in front of our door which made it very accessible since I have limited mobility. The handicap equipped bath was very accessible for me and my caregiver who must assist me. There was plenty of room for both of us in the shower and it had a fold down bench seat which made me feel very safe. They have gone above and beyond to make the facilities handicapped accessible. I have stayed at many hotels, motels, with 4 and 5 star ratings that were not anywhere near as handicap friendly as this small Holiday Inn Express.”

  • Convenient, comfortable, reasonable clean, nice people.
  • A little run down.

“Holiday Inn Express in Chula Vista was clean and comfortable. The carpets were stained and shabby but the beds were very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful.”

  • Excellent location when visiting Coors Amphitheater, decent breakfast buffet includes eggs & bacon.
  • Few restaurants nearby, just next to highway, cleaning staff hanging around in the hallways all day long.

“Nothing special, even a little pricey for what you get. But the proximity to the Coors Amphitheater can't be beat. Updated rooms with granite counters, coffeemakers, small fridge. Pretty good breakfast with fruit, cereal, eggs, muffins, bagels, bacon, juice, coffee, etc.”
