“ Really liked this hotel-the view from the room was simply amazing. The staff were all very nice. The rooftop view was great as well. The mini bar had great selection-and was not too expensive! The only negative is I would say it's slightly far away from piazza Navona, travestevere, etc-so its a bit of a walk every single time. ”

“Excellent convenient location, cozy room nicely refurbished with new furniture, had an electric water pot great for making own teas and drinks, breakfast in a very nice roof top restaurant.”

“The hotel is in a very good location with close access to everything including the train station and tourist information booth. If I will go to Rome again, I will choose this hotel again.”

“The hotel is very well located for any purpose you have in Rome. Service was good and very polite. I wouldn't recomend this hotel.”

“The location is marginal, the rooms are extremely small (even for Europe), the hotel needs new carpets, and some of the desk personnel are not friendly. The breakfast buffet is good and the food in the dining room is also good but the menu is limited.”

“For Rome, this is a pretty nice hotel. It was not warm and fuzzy just a decent place to stay convenient to the subway.”

“We found the hotel staff to be friendly and helpful. The hotel is pretty and conveniently located near the train station. Also located right by the Church with the most melodic bell towers in Rome which sounded pretty. The roof top restaurant was nice but food could have been better. Our pasta sauce tasted more like chef boy than home made. Overall, the room was comfortable, although a little small. The bathroom was spacious. The service of the staff was great. We would recommend this hotel to others and would stay again.”

“The Mecanante Palace Hotel is very conveniently located 4 blocks from the Roma Termini. Americans need to know that European hotels are singles and doubles, meaning they have bed space for one or two. They don't have two double beds. So when traveling with kids 1) they bill you by the number of folks in the room and 2) they have to move in extra beds for you. The staff was nice but was ill informed on the visiting hours for say. The coliseum, insisting that it was not open on Sunday, which it was. So they could be more tourist friendly, with recommendations for purchasing food and water, restaurant ratings etc. Just a different, less wanting to please vibe than I have seen in other locales.”

“I found the hotel to be very nice. The room was large and very well kept and clean. The front desk staff was always very accommodating with any questions, directions, inquiries. It was located close to the train station, to the Metro station and to major streets for transportation to various sites. There was a cafe conveniently located at the corner for outdoor dining. It met my expectations.”

“I thought I was a bit expensive for the size of the room. However, it was centrally located and the breakfast was very nice on the roof garden. Only ate dinner once and it was very expensive and quite tasteless. Staff was nice and it was very clean and well taken care of - hardly any room for luggage or to move around though. My wife had to climb over me to get into the small double bed which was up against a wall. Overall experience was good.”

“While the location is close to Termini station, making it convenient for taking public transit, I felt that it was not a 4 star hotel. The rooms (and beds) are quite small. When we wanted to go to the terrace one evening to watch a show happening at a nearby church, the staff wouldn't let us in because we weren't eating at the restaurant. Since we are staying at the hotel, I thought this was not fair.”

“The hotel location is convenient and on a pretty tree-lined street. The hotel itself is pretty and the rooms and bathrooms are very nice. I had to remove the bedspread because something bit me two afternoons in a row when I was reading in bed after a long day. I guess I would recommend removing the bedspread in any room. Overall the hotel staff was friendly, bar had a great view and was outside, breakfast was very nice and the room was comfortable and bathroom was nice marble and very European. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much.”

“However, when we got there, we were very disappointed. The hotel had not been renovated in year! The blanket in the room had perhaps not been changed in years. It was not clean, the breakfast was not good, and we perhaps could have gotten a better hotel for less. The location was just okay, and we could hear the street noise. Hotel was way over-rated and over-priced.”

“This was a very lovely hotel in a great location. The restaurant on the terrace had excellent food and very reasonable compared to other places. The staff for dinner was very attentive. The breakfast was great and included in the cost of the room. I would definitely use & recommend this hotel in the future.”

“The room was pretty disgusting. The walls were black in the corners and around the air vent (other than that it was a purple wall paper). The headboard had some pretty gross stains on it. The comforter was also pretty badly stained. The bathroom had residue around the mirror, and the marble tile walls. I've also never seen such a bad mold problem at a hotel in my life. I've stayed in 2 star hotels with rooms cleaner than this place. The whole room smelled dusty. I think the chamber maid noticed that the comforter was so gross, because it was taken off the bed entirely the day after our first night there. The carpet was pretty worn out and discolored and the furniture doors and walls were pretty bunged up. The phones, buttons etc in the room looked like they must have been put there in the 1960's. I would have rather have paid full price to feel like I had some say to get my money back and switch hotels.”
