“Having stayed at the hotel in the past, found it to be an excellent hotel, with friendly and polite staff nothing was ever too much trouble. The restaurant is superb and the food first class with lovely views out over the hills. Being situated close to the M6 with windermere to the south and keswick to the north this is an excellent place from which to explore the lake district.”

“This hotel is an oasis of calm on the M6 - after a long and tring drive from the south of England, it was a pleasure to be able to relax away from the madding crowd”

“An excellent hotel with helpful/informative staff. Easy access from motorway, but no motorway traffic noise. Restaurant served delicious food at reasonable price. Relaxing bar area in which to sit before/after eating in the evening. Room facilities above average for the price of the room. Good location for visiting Penrith. I was working the following day at the local college Newton Rigg.”

“Would have liked to see a better VAT Invoice without all my credit card details printed over it.

“One problem I had was finding my way - the NO ENTRY signs were confusing, I thought there must be another way in. The same went for the way back to Tebay servcices. I thought the route up to you and again back to the motorway could have been much better signposted.”

“We only stayed for one night but the hotel was better than we had expected - we have stayed in motorway hotels before but this is much more than a motel. Fine food, lovely atmosphere, and very friendly staff - their smiles looked genuine and they were pleased to help. The Farm Shop at the service station is worth a visit if you like good food. We would have liked to have stayed longer.”

“Having stopped at Tebay services many times in the past, I already knew of the existence of the hotel and its beautiful setting. I was travelling with my elderly disabled mother and was a little bit worried that she would have to negotiate stairs (impossible for her) but was very pleased to be allocated a ground floor room and that there was a lift to the dining room. The room was very comfortable and clean and the staff helpful and quick in the dining room. Well done.” Amenities at Westmorland Hotel, Penrith
