• The staff was always friendly and eager to serve their guests.
• Valet parking $29/night. Parking lot next door $17/night. The trick was to park free on the street from 7pm to 8am.

“The Benson is an elegant hotel with an excellent staff. The hotel is a historic site which was built in 1912. The mahogany walls are reminiscent of a by-gone era. I loved my stay at The Benson.”

• Old time Hotel, fire in lobby, warm reception, great bar, excellent room.

“Excellent retro hotel, that knows how to act like a hotel. Excellent in every category. I will stay here again on business and leisure trips. Love their style.”

• The lobby area was gorgeous and bed extremely comfortable.
• The room was too small and old not in a good way.

“Calling the Benson a 4 star hotel is like calling the cute girl next door the most beautiful woman on the planet. It just isn't fair. While The Benson is definitely a nice place to stay, it just doesn't live up to lofty claims.
Well the rooms are very small, barely big enough to fit the queen sized bed. Also, it's old. This isn't always a bad thing, but our room seemed reminded me of an old car with a fresh coat of paint. I don't mind older hotels, but this one just seemed to be a paint job away from from being any other older hotel. Lastly, the room was very hot. We reset the thermostat lower and it seemed to reset itself back high again. I'm very glad I didn't pay the normal price for this room. It isn't all bad though. The lobby awed my girlfriend, and rightfully so. The layout is lavishly constructed and certainly suggests 4 star all the way. Plus the staff was very friendly for the most part. The best part about the room was definitely the bed. Top of the line comfort for sure.”

• Classic charm and elegance, warm and friendly.
• Bathrooms could use an upgrade; needs more than one light, felt like I was showering in the dark.
